“Reflections and Tails” is a menagerie of short stories. You may have inferred from the title these stories incorporate animals into the storyline in emblematic ways. The cat lover in me was thoroughly entertained with the “Tao of Teddy”, “About Fur” and “Spunk’s Revenge”. I found them to be a neat addition to the short stories.Author Krista Tibbs exhibits a gripping, descriptive and versatile writing style that brings each story to life. This is the perfect book to read while sipping on hot tea, soaking in the words and reflecting upon the meanings you find in each tale. There is no right or wrong way to interpret this collection. Each story is exceptionally well-written and unique in both style and theme compared to one another.
There are writers who produce books and those that produce great literature. Krista Tibbs is the latter. This book is a testament to her tremendous storytelling talents. I’m definitely a fan.

I have to admit that I did not quite understand some of the stories. I did not like the book until I found a story I could relate to - The Exchange. The Exchange and Dudes were the only stories I liked. Maybe that was because I could relate to them in some sense. I believe with this book, you have to find some resemblance in it to enjoy it.

An ode to sheep, by a sheep.
Mooses, mice, and cats as comedy relief. This variety-show book contains vignettes and stories sure to entertain you, to make you think, and to leave you breathless. The emotional gamut is run through completely, as Ms. Tibbs takes us from elation to sympathy, from alarm to hilarity.
There is the story of Shadow and his odd owner, and the girl-child who is their target of choice. I have to admit, this one had me on the edge of my seat until the very end.
Then there is the family that is drawn together by events that actually divide them.
And in between, Ms. Tibbs' cats get to have their say, and do they ever sound like any cat I've ever known!
When I picked up this book, I didn't really know much about it. Thinking it was like a Beatrix Potter or Disney, with cute little animals dancing in the woods, I began reading the first offering, "A Vampire's Story". It was nothing like I had expected.
Then came the above-mentioned "Shadow's Promise", and its suspenseful tale.
I was hooked. Every one of these short stories was unique, each had a different voice; almost a different style to fit with the creatures that starred in them.
The artist who drew the illustrations, Clint Sattler, did an excellent job. They are simply black-and-white sketches, but they are beautiful in their simplicity. All in all, I had a marvelous time visiting these pages, and I hope the two collaborate on another offering.
A very nice collections of stories, well written and entertaining. We haven`t seen the last of this up-and-coming author. Looking forward to her next book.
I am not an avid reader, but this book held my interest. I didn't want to put it down. Each story was so different. I love the author's use of descriptive language and her imagination.

Krista Tibbs is a consummate storyteller. Her stories are, quite simply, GREAT.
I'm not a fan of animal stories, by nature, but Krista's recent collection of short stories, `Reflections and Tails', is so thoroughly entertaining, enlightening and enriching--the `trifecta' of pleasurable reading for me--it is easily the exception to the rule.
I am a big fan of `reflections,' though, and the wonder and wisdom of the `reflections' in these stories is compelling and moving. I'll have to borrow the words from Oliver Twist and ask of Krista "More, please!"
Recommendation(s) Buy it. Read it. Tell your friends to buy it and read it.
