Eternal Nights is the continuation of the Sekhmet's Guardians series and focuses on Raphael and Jessica's love story. VS Nelson has managed to create the perfect balance of romance (it is hot!) and action in a fascinating storyline! I would highly recommend setting aside a chunk of time when you start reading this book because you will not be able to put it down! I read it at the gym while working out on the cardio machines, while everyone else was watching movies at the house, and when I should have been sleeping (I have to get up at 5am for work and was reading until after midnight when I couldn't keep my eyes open any longer!) I am looking forward to the next book in this series- Eternal Blades. I proudly admit, I am a Sekhmet's Guardians junkie!! Keep them coming VS Nelson!Product details

Im not trying to ruin anything for anyone but, lets just say the author lives up to the hype she created with the first book! I was immediately reunited with the familiar line up of characters from all around the world that come together in this eventful series. Now that we had all the introductions made in book one, this 2nd book gets to the "meat and potatos" of the story(not ruining it!).There is so many memorable chapters. The kitchen scene with gabe is priceless (I sware im not going to ruin it)! I felt I understood the characters better and V.S. Nelson added a few new ones to the bunch...
and the plot thickens ...dun dun dun....READ THE BOOK!
I'll be bitting my nails to the nub waiting for the next book to release (sign of a truelly great book).
Keep that laptop a'clickin V.S. Nelson! You have me hooked!
Eternal Nights is the 2nd book in the series. Sekhmet's Guardian's and while its long the pages just flew by. In my opinion this story wasn't long enough, lol. It's not often an author can successfully combine three various couples into one book and make it work, V.S. Nelson did just that. While this was Raphael and Jasmine's story it was also the story of two other couples, yet the inclusion of these other couples added to the storyline and enhanced the entire reading experience. All the people that we were introduced in Eternal Lovers came back in this 2nd installment of Sekhmet's Guardians...including Harold, love that British butler, just a bit of a teaser, Harold's starched collar got a bit wrinkled in one of the chapters, YOU GO HAROLD!!!!
V.S. Nelson took us back on another emotional rollercoaster starting with the first page and didn't let up until the very end. As a reader I'm happy that Ms. Nelson doesn't rush the story, but lets it unfold the way its suppose to... taking us to the bliss of true love down to the depths of betrayal. The characters are well developed. I don't think the other couples needed their own book as they enhanced the storyline and played the perfect role right where they were placed. Each couple had their own issues that needed to be dealt with in their own way and Ms. Nelson's writing is such that they keep their individuality while as the reader you cheer for them to find their own HEA even through the pain.
We were introduced to new characters along with learning that the GI's are recruiting more single warriors to come to the compound...ooh la la...but we also learn the bad guys are doing the same. I can't wait to find out what will be happening in the 3rd installment, Eternal Blades. I enjoyed the fact that the author continued to give us glimpses of Gabe and Jen...and yup ladies Gabe is still spoiling Jen like crazy...another teaser....its Jen's birthday wonder what Gab got her ).

The Review
This is the second book in the Sekhmet’s Guardians Series and I absolutely LOVED it!
In Book 1, “Eternal Lovers”, we met Raphael and I personally fell in love with him. He was a gentle soul, who loved dogs, especially Nowaki, Jennifer’s Wolf and Jennifer had a hell of a time choosing between him and Gabriel. There was a connection there that neither understood and we don’t discover the reason, until THIS book!
Without Jennifer in his arms, Raphael feels an emptiness inside, even though he knows they’re better off as friends. So the companionship that Nowaki offers him is truly a special bond.
Meanwhile Raphael keeps having dreams of a beautiful woman, with long platinum colored hair. His angel. After he’s injured, he dreams it is her who is with him. Who has tried to save him. Who is lying across his chest to comfort him. When everyone else arrives to help Raphael, it is Nowaki they find protecting him.
Jessica has been trapped for years. She felt her life never truly had meaning, until she meets Raphael. The only way she can visit him, touch him as a woman, is in his dreams. He thinks she’s his dream angel, she knows otherwise. He is always looking for her, when she’s always been just a touch away. Can she be saved? Or will she always be on the other side of the looking glass?
My Final Thoughts This story was touching, exhilarating and unique. I loved all the characters and how the story developed was absolute perfection. I can honestly say, this is the book that sealed the deal with this being one of my favorite paranormal series! I can’t wait to see what else V.S. Nelson has in store. It will take a lot to top this story, but I have no doubt she’ll do just that and more!!

Not liking the language and sexual content. The story line is great, but the language is not what I would expect from Ancients. Just wouldn't happen.
Just finished reading book 2, and it was just as if not more awesome than the first!!
The characters are enjoyable, the plot keeps you turning the pages to find out what happens next! This book is filled with just as much fun, love and sex as the first book!
Can't wait for book 3!!
